Searchin for some Silver

Over this past weekend, the crew decided to venture on down to Silverton Mountain to use up the free ticket we had earned earlier in the year by bootpacking for them. Being poor college kids, who have an extremely expensive and addicting hobby (ski building), we camped out at the base of the mountain to save us some mulah.

Dragon Tail/Variable Conditions Testing

After hearing about some killer spring skiing being done in Rocky Mountain National Park, Chris and I were hungry for some good corn snow and some steep turns.  After looking at the weather and checking our school schedules, we both realized that Wednesday was looking like we could squeeze some skiing in.  The weather was supposed to be clear until around noon, when a small storm was headed in, which was fine because I had a dentist appointment at 10am back in Boulder.  We figured that if we got up real early, we could get on top of something fun by about 8, when hopefully the sun had a little time to warm 'er up, and then haul ass back to the car so I could make it to the dentist.

2:45 AM.  Our idea of early.

Spring Break in Cali, the Land of Beaches, Bikinis, and Sun

Squaw Valley USA
Team Resolution was recently on Spring Break from school, and members Tom, Duncan and roommate Thomas Hever, decided  to head out to Duncan's home town of Truckee, California. We were in for quite a surprise when we arrived to find a couple feet of fresh snow on Saturday morning. We started out the week skiing at Squaw Valley USA, where we were only able to enjoy the lower mountain on our first day, due to the intense storm. Lapping KT-22 and Red Dog gave us some of our best skiing of the year, and our luck hadn't run out yet. After checking the weather forecast, we discovered to our surprise that it was suppose to keep dumping for the rest of the week.
